Stunning small rainbowfish from Indonesia and also Northern Australia. Gertrudae named for the wife of Dr. Hugo Merton, a German naturalist who visited the Aru Islands, eastern Indonesia, in 1907 and 1908. Wild populations of this species tend to be somewhat isolated from one another, and exhibit various, often highly-localised, differences in colour pattern, body size, and fin morphology. This species is kinda rare in shop or aquarium here in Indonesia, and usually come in high price!
