The Cardinal tetra is a very popular aquarium fish, just like its relatives, the Neon. It differs in possessing relatively more red pigment on the body, a broader blue lateral stripe and a less distinct white marking on the anal-fin. Cardinal Tetra is now commercially bred on a large scale with selectively-produced ornamental strains including ‘gold’ and albino. Buy a group of at least 8 of these, or maybe more. All Neons are shoaling species by nature.
