This species can be told apart from other Freshwater hatchetfish by its larger adult size with marbled colour pattern appearing as a series of dark and light stripes running diagonally across the body below the lateral line. This fish spend almost all of their time at or towards the surface and they also can Jump out of the water to avoid predator.This species are not commercially bred, all fish offered for sale collected in the wild.
